23 Sep Data2insight Lightning Talks

Data2insight founder, Veronica S. Smith, will be giving a lightning talk at the National Science Foundation Research Traineeship (NRT) annual meeting in Chicago, IL from September 25-27.  Veronica’s talk will highlight how measurement and evaluation focusing sessions work and are essential to building a community of learning that continually improves NRT program effectiveness and impact on graduate student competencies in interdisciplinary and convergent research.
The NSF Research Traineeship (NRT) program is dedicated to effective training of STEM graduate students in high priority interdisciplinary or convergent research areas, through the use of a comprehensive traineeship model that is innovative, evidence-based, and aligned with changing workforce and research needs.
The Annual Meeting goals and outcomes include:
  • Sharing innovative practices to improve NRT programs and career preparation of NRT trainees,
  • Enhancing students’ professional communication skills,
  • Developing practices that increase the NRT project impact, and
  • Engaging in a candid discussion about what does and does not work in graduate STEM training.
