May is Mental Health Awareness Month

14 May May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Since 1949, Mental Health America has led the observance of May is Mental Health Month by reaching millions of people through the media, local events, and screenings.  Data2insight has joined them in spreading the word that mental health is something everyone should care about.
Last week, data2insight founder, Veronica S. Smith, was at the offices of Behavior Health Response (BHR) in St. Louis, Missouri.  BHR provides confidential telephone counseling to people in mental health crises as well as mobile outreach services, community referral services, and critical incident stress management (CISM).  BHR’s crisis hotline and mobile outreach services are provided free of charge to the public by paid professional staff who have masters degrees in their respective behavioral science disciplines.  BHR, the community’s behavioral health safety net, ensures compassionate and immediate barrier free access to behavioral health services.
