Values

  • INCLUSION

  • We create learning communities where all voices are vital and valued.  When working on a project, we not only follow the client’s lead, but also whenever possible, suggest expanded participation by a variety of cultures, and attention to issues related to cultural awareness.  Our work team is comprised of individuals from a wide range of cultures and we make a safe space within our firm to allow for difficult discussions and growth in understanding.
  • APPROPRIATENESS

  • No method or measure is inherently better than any other. We partner with our clients to co-create useful knowledge. This approach requires that we design and define appropriate measures that take into account not only a measure’s strength, but also its feasibility. Similarly, when designing evaluation and research, we identify and tailor methods to optimally answer key questions given the unique constraints of each project.
  • REFLECTION

  • Effective measurement, planning, evaluation, and research require an iterative process in which measures and methods are reviewed and refined. We work with our clients to build reflection into their processes. The practice of reflection increases the likelihood of organizations realizing their mission and vision.
  • RIGOR

  • We aim to be thorough, exhaustive, accurate, and systematic in all our work. These qualities are essential to collecting, analyzing, and using credible evidence to inform decisions and actions. Without rigor, evidence-based decision-making is a myth.
  • CREATIVITY

  • Applying imagination to creatively problem solve in the moment is essential to our work because measurement, evaluation, and research gets messy regardless of how rigorous and systematic the plan.
  • CURIOSITY

  • We are insatiably curious and love learning. Curiosity drives us to keep abreast of the latest tools and techniques available for measurement, evaluation, and research. We also love supporting our clients’ learning, which means they build their capacity to better measure and evaluate their process and impacts.
  • INTEGRITY

  • We are truth seekers and recognize that the truth has many facets. Therefore, we invest time up front with our clients to clearly identify useful questions and measures to guide our work. We then identify appropriate measures and methods for collecting and analyzing credible evidence for decision-making and action. We aim to clearly communicate the strengths and limits of all methods used and evidence collected.
